Noah – having fun with big sticks

It’s been a while since I posted anything. I have been finding it hard to be inspired about anything lately. Winter has been long and dreary. It is either dark, bleak or raining in Edinburgh.

I took this picture of Noah at the end of autumn last year and thought I should share it with you all.  It didn’t get that many likes on my personal FB page (I reckon my friends are not that hung up on dogs lol). I’ve entered him into a dog contest (My first) he hasn’t got that many votes at the moment (despite posting on my personal FB page or photography page), so I’m asking bloggers here to help him get more votes. He has turned into a handsome and sometimes crazy dog. If you think he deserves your vote pop over to kingspet it won’t take more than a minute to place your vote and no need to resister (unless your a pet owner and wish to enter yourself)

Thank you for stopping by

Noah with swans

I have been promising you to show the latest of Noah’s shots while out on a day trip to Arthur seat  taken a couple of weeks back when it was a nice sunny day. I have been trying out different settings on the camera, and on an earlier post you would have seen Noah modelling amongst the buttercups. I hasten to add I really was just going to take some shots of flowers for a project I was working on, when he just went into the shot and remained there so who couldn’t resist taking a few of him. He is a natural infront of  the lens, maybe I should enter him into a contest.

well here they are I hope you enjoy them:

You can also view them in higher resolution on my main photography page along with many more of Noah & the beautiful swans. Here

A dog’s best friend

Good afternoon everyone

Thought you might like to see Noah featured in a short slideshow modelling with his uncle kev last week. It was a lovely sunny day in Edinburgh, went on a lovely walk to Arthur seat, took quite a lot of pictures and in the process of going through them all. Will post a few more photo’s of Noah swimming and being close to quite a few swans. Noah wasn’t bothered in the slightest by them, however the swans were keeping a close watch on him. lol

Noah the model dog

A quick update on Noah: Noah has turned out to be a rather handsome dog. Wherever we go people will often stop to admire his good looks. Noah helps and inspires me in a quest to becoming a better photographer. He is so easy and patient in front of the camera. I think he sees himself as the next ‘Model Dog’

Aka Noah get’s a halter

well folks it’s been some time since I posted anything. It’s been a pretty stressful few months, on the plus side things can only get better. After suffering from lingering pain in my shoulders, I just had to do something about walking with Noah. After months of being haled all the way to the park, walks were beginning to become a bit of a pain.  As you may know Border Collies just don’t take to being on leads. Overall Noah is a pretty good dog, but not when he’s in such a rush to get to the park and play his favorite games of chasing balls, frisbee’s and whatever else he can find. So after some advice Noah and I took a trip to Pets at home and purchased a halter. Considering Noah is now over the age of 2 and never had anything put over muzzle, he did so good (I’m actually quite proud of him). The shop assistant actually said he should be a model (got quite a few shots of him doing this, one for another blog). So we have been doing a bit of training. Take a look at how cute he looks.

Noah 1st Holiday – part 2

Here’s more pics of our time at Angecroft Caravan Park. Apart from a little rain on the Saturday, it stayed fairly dry for the next couple of days. It rained heavily late on the Monday night, we didn’t care though as we were nice and cosy in the the caravan. We woke early in the morning to find it was still raining . After breakfast I decided to brave the rain, I wanted to enjoy our last day at the caravan, and my brother was arriving late afternoon with his 2 kids to stay overnight and drive us back home in the morning.

After a long walk we headed back to the caravan, to dry off. After some lunch I settled down to watch Anne of green gables Continue reading

Noah’s 1st Holiday – Part 1

Well fellow  bloggers I have been promising you this post for a while now, I’ve finally got round to organizing  some of the many photos of our time at a caravan in Ettrick Valley.

We left on the saturday 13th October. The travel plans didn’t quite go to plan. I had originally planned to leave the day before, but as I was working I didn’t relish the thought of travelling late in the day (which was just as well I didn’t).  a good friend was planning a visit back to Edinburgh for that very weekend. So I went out dancing and enjoyed a catch up off her news of her settling into a new area and job. When I rechecked travelling plans that very night I found to my dismay there wouldn’t be a bus that would take us from Selkirk Town to Angecroft caravan park ; as I had originally thought. Apparently it’s only the local school bus they use, and as it was a Saturday there was no other means of transport to getting there. Lets just say I panicked, Continue reading

I’m back

Not staying long. it’s a busy busy busy time

Hello fellow bloggers’s it’s been a while. I have missed keeping you all up to date with how Noah I have been doing and  been getting up to.

Boy has October been a busy month and it looks like November is going to be just as busy. Work has been extremely busy since the new term.  I am starting something new at school, I’m planning and leading the VI (Visual impairment)group on Tuesday’s, so my nights have been typing out lesson plans to incorporate 3 activities into the weekly session.  At last I feel I’m contributing to the team. I have been getting hooked on pinterest, and getting my creative juices going.  There is so many good ideas I want to make a few things in school and at home for Christmas. I feel I’ve put everything else on the back burner. This weekend I really must start my own work in time for Christmas and get that photography tour book, got to use the voucher by the end of December and Saturday’s are now all booked.

This is a little section of photo’s I took when we all spent the day in Burntisland. It seems so long ago now, but remember with fondest memories. Noah had a great time splashing in the sea.

I feel really guilty that I haven’t been able to spend as much time with him as I would like. 4 more lesson plans, a trip to Malta next week for a salsa congress, might just have time to breathe properly, and plan another little adventure time with Noah………………………………………….. will keep you all posted, in the meantime.

A Happy spooky Halloween!!!

A spring day in October

What a busy October it is turning out to be, so much to do and so little time. I can’t believe its the middle of October already. Have been rather busy with work, planning holidays, getting to grips working the new camera and editing masses of photos. Here’s a little collection of a trip to Princes street gardens before Noah going on his 1st ever train Journey.

This is the Scott  monument, which stands at the entrance to the 1st section of the gardens. It has a whopping 287 steps. I have yet to climb all the way to the top. I don’t care much for heights. I’m pretty sure around 10 years ago I almost got to the top but bottled out as the steps are rather old and spirals which is even worse – as a child I fractured my elbow fallen down spiral steps when I was delivering leaflets. As an adult I really should overcome this fear.
