Noah with swans

I have been promising you to show the latest of Noah’s shots while out on a day trip to Arthur seat  taken a couple of weeks back when it was a nice sunny day. I have been trying out different settings on the camera, and on an earlier post you would have seen Noah modelling amongst the buttercups. I hasten to add I really was just going to take some shots of flowers for a project I was working on, when he just went into the shot and remained there so who couldn’t resist taking a few of him. He is a natural infront of  the lens, maybe I should enter him into a contest.

well here they are I hope you enjoy them:

You can also view them in higher resolution on my main photography page along with many more of Noah & the beautiful swans. Here

Aka Noah get’s a halter

well folks it’s been some time since I posted anything. It’s been a pretty stressful few months, on the plus side things can only get better. After suffering from lingering pain in my shoulders, I just had to do something about walking with Noah. After months of being haled all the way to the park, walks were beginning to become a bit of a pain.  As you may know Border Collies just don’t take to being on leads. Overall Noah is a pretty good dog, but not when he’s in such a rush to get to the park and play his favorite games of chasing balls, frisbee’s and whatever else he can find. So after some advice Noah and I took a trip to Pets at home and purchased a halter. Considering Noah is now over the age of 2 and never had anything put over muzzle, he did so good (I’m actually quite proud of him). The shop assistant actually said he should be a model (got quite a few shots of him doing this, one for another blog). So we have been doing a bit of training. Take a look at how cute he looks.

Noah’s 1st Holiday – Part 1

Well fellow  bloggers I have been promising you this post for a while now, I’ve finally got round to organizing  some of the many photos of our time at a caravan in Ettrick Valley.

We left on the saturday 13th October. The travel plans didn’t quite go to plan. I had originally planned to leave the day before, but as I was working I didn’t relish the thought of travelling late in the day (which was just as well I didn’t).  a good friend was planning a visit back to Edinburgh for that very weekend. So I went out dancing and enjoyed a catch up off her news of her settling into a new area and job. When I rechecked travelling plans that very night I found to my dismay there wouldn’t be a bus that would take us from Selkirk Town to Angecroft caravan park ; as I had originally thought. Apparently it’s only the local school bus they use, and as it was a Saturday there was no other means of transport to getting there. Lets just say I panicked, Continue reading

I’m back

Not staying long. it’s a busy busy busy time

Hello fellow bloggers’s it’s been a while. I have missed keeping you all up to date with how Noah I have been doing and  been getting up to.

Boy has October been a busy month and it looks like November is going to be just as busy. Work has been extremely busy since the new term.  I am starting something new at school, I’m planning and leading the VI (Visual impairment)group on Tuesday’s, so my nights have been typing out lesson plans to incorporate 3 activities into the weekly session.  At last I feel I’m contributing to the team. I have been getting hooked on pinterest, and getting my creative juices going.  There is so many good ideas I want to make a few things in school and at home for Christmas. I feel I’ve put everything else on the back burner. This weekend I really must start my own work in time for Christmas and get that photography tour book, got to use the voucher by the end of December and Saturday’s are now all booked.

This is a little section of photo’s I took when we all spent the day in Burntisland. It seems so long ago now, but remember with fondest memories. Noah had a great time splashing in the sea.

I feel really guilty that I haven’t been able to spend as much time with him as I would like. 4 more lesson plans, a trip to Malta next week for a salsa congress, might just have time to breathe properly, and plan another little adventure time with Noah………………………………………….. will keep you all posted, in the meantime.

A Happy spooky Halloween!!!

A spring day in October

What a busy October it is turning out to be, so much to do and so little time. I can’t believe its the middle of October already. Have been rather busy with work, planning holidays, getting to grips working the new camera and editing masses of photos. Here’s a little collection of a trip to Princes street gardens before Noah going on his 1st ever train Journey.

This is the Scott  monument, which stands at the entrance to the 1st section of the gardens. It has a whopping 287 steps. I have yet to climb all the way to the top. I don’t care much for heights. I’m pretty sure around 10 years ago I almost got to the top but bottled out as the steps are rather old and spirals which is even worse – as a child I fractured my elbow fallen down spiral steps when I was delivering leaflets. As an adult I really should overcome this fear.

A walk in the park

Dalkeith Country Park is only a short distance to where we live in Edinburgh and is close to the city bypass. Only a short ride on the bus which suits Noah as he hates being on the bus for long periods of time. The park is open 7 days a week from Easter to the end of October 2012, 10am–5.00pm.

There is also a fantastic adventure playground with over 150 metres of high walkways, flying foxes and lots more to keep children of all ages occupied for hours, but of course that doesn’t appeal to Noah. He would much rather find a stick  and play fetch.

Even though the Estate is so close to Dalkeith town centre, it is an oasis of calm woodland. In the Estate, Otters, Badgers and Roe deer, can all be found roaming our woodlands or waterways, along with a host of different species of birds. A flash of red in the undergrowth tells us that a fox is on the prowl, a shriek in the evening lets us know that a barn owl is looking for a mate. I have yet to capture these species on camera. Live like a dog!

Woke up this morning very early I may add – curtsy of my 2 nieces, with their little noses almost touching mine, with little whispers off  “We’re hungry”. How sweet, makes a change from Noah’s wet runny nose. What a beautiful sunny morning, the sun is shinning so brightly. It makes a lovely change, as for the past few days we have had rather a lot of wind and rain. The 1st thing I did, well after I fed the little hungry mites, was going on the computer checking emails and then logging onto Facebook. I came across this little post, well I just had to click and carry on reading. I thought I would share this with you all.

Story time again [Must READ] from powerful affirmations. Continue reading

Hello everyone

Well what a busy week its been, I feel like If been chasing my tail, roll on in 3 weeks time when I will have 12 days off work. I find myself jumping on the computer most days to check my blog, just to see if any new people are following, and then I think, I haven’t anything interesting to actually put on this site, because all I’ve done is work, clean the house, food shopping, short walk or play with Noah or go to my dance class- which to be honest feeling rather guilty as I haven’t spent much time with Noah, well not enough quantity of time as I would like.

When I don’t have to work that is.

I’ve actually had a great weekend, very productive. Dinner party Friday night, the food was amazing, and a great way of  catching  up with friends. Saturday; despite working part of the day managed to spend some time playing at the park with Noah and rounding the day of with a salsa event in the evening. Packing away the summer clothes to make room for the winter wardrobe. Love Autumn time its my favourite season. Then Sunday was spent at Dalkeith Country Park. I had a great time with Noah and getting to grips working the new camera.

Here’s a little selection of pictures I took with my new camera of our time spent there:

Wish there was more days in a weekend. Why did God have to finish everything in 6 days and only allowing 1 day of rest. I feel another busy week is just about to begin. Roll on next weekend – thinking a train ride for Noah’s next adventure.
