Saw this and just had to share it. It makes me think of Noah. From a very early age (Well as soon as he was old enough to jump on the bed) – he likes to sit on my bed and watch me go out the gate. It has become a habit for me to turn round – blow a kiss and wave. I thought I’m sure all my friends think I’m mad. Until one day when 2 of my friends came to visit and when we all left the house together. They too turned round, looked up at the window and waved. One of the friends said “did we really just wave to Noah. Yip even they can’t resist waving too. My daughter has admitted that all her friends do the same.
He will often be at the window when I return, this makes me smile and I wave. He will come down to the garden as I put my bike away in the shed. After a hard day at work, it’s nice to sit down with a cup of coffee and Noah will come and snuggle into me for a cuddle. So no matter how hard the day has been, or how tired I feel – It cheers me up. Who would have thought just how therapeutic having a dog would be.
Let me know your thoughts, send me your comments on how you say hello and goodbye to your pets. :).

“Mummy you’re useless”
Although I’m getting slightly better at playing Frisbee from what I was before, I think I need more practice playing ball.
This was taking while out in the garden playing
I remember the first rope ball I got Noah. Off we went walking to the park and halfway there on a little pathway – I throw the ball – only for it to land up in a tree. Continue reading
Oh no it’s that time again when your dog is dirty/smelly.
Do not let them in the house only joking. Wipe off excess dirt with an old towel. Handy if you keep one by the door. Before you go out.
“What do you mean I can’t come in”
Leave your dog by the door as you, go and run a bath. Do not be tempted to let them in, no matter how loud they protest.
Noah protesting at being kept at the door!
Prepare the bathroom. Run a warm bath, not too hot, not too cold. Use old towels to line the bathroom floor (you don’t want any accidents – either by you slipping or your dog).
Prepare the bathroom, ensure you use lots of towels
What a hectic week it’s been. Glad it’s Friday. Decided instead of a long walk I would take Noah down to the playing field not far from where we live, to play ball. Big mistake, running around playing wasn’t a problem, until I said “It’s time to go”. I walked away saying goodbye – usually he comes running. Oh no not tonight, when all I really wanted to do, was get some shopping, have my dinner and put my weary legs up. Not Noah he then decided he was thirsty and preceded to find a mud hole, not only did he drink from it, he plonked himself down in it. Continue reading
Noah at 6 weeks old
Noah is unique. He has different coloured eyes, his right eye is brown – his left eye is blue. I’ve never seen this in dogs before. The only person I know who has different coloured eyes is David Bowie. I first met Noah at the tender age of 4 weeks, at that stage his eyes where different shades of blue ( I just thought his eyes where beginning to change – like what happens with babies). Then we brought Noah home 2 weeks later. I still hadn’t noticed anything unusual, it wasn’t until I took close up photos, that I began to notice something strange- I first thought there was a problem with his retina – like a cataract. Thought I would share this quote that I came across.
So all you animal lovers out there, when your having a bad day – remember when you open your hearts to animals – YOUR A SPECIAL PERSON!
For the past couple of days, between work, going out on walks with Noah – I have been looking at all of Noah’s puppy photos and video’s and can’t believe how much I actually have. What fun memories have sprung back into my mind. Think that’s why I love taking photos so much – capturing beautiful times together. I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. I so love being part of Noah’s life – just wish I had become a dog owner years ago. Doesn’t matter how hard a day you have, just coming through the door and being greeted puts a smile on your face, and after a walk & play – you feel better about things.
This is one of many favourite photos of Noah, taken while I was having a bath.
and here’s me thinking it was only the kids that didn’t give you peace to take a bath.
A short clip of when Noah was a few months old. Having fun with a tooth brush
Did someone call my name?
Celebrating Noah’s 2nd Birthday.
Noah having a good rummage around
Noah having some fun with his new toys. Despite working all day and cycling the 10 miles home, I was ready for some fun too.
Although this is a tug toy, it won’t be used much for that. It will be a throw and retrieve. What Noah wants to do all the time.
- Noah’s New Toys
This one I found later in the bathroom. Goodness knows why he took it in there.
A game of Peek-a-boo!
A happy smiley Noah!
Well today started off good, I woke in good spirits and sang Happy Birthday to Noah, he looked so cute curled up in the corner of the bedroom. Noah is a very fidgety doggy. Sometimes he lies at the bottom of the bed (usually waiting for me to put in an appearance), in his own bed (he also has one in the living room: which he hardly lies on) in the corner of the room, by the hall, or in my daughter’s room. So I suppose he has many areas he considers to be his resting place. Decided to leave the pressie opening until I returned home from work (oops, hadn’t even wrapped them) – well I didn’t want him to see his new toys get excited and disappoint him when I really had to get a move on for work. Noah was spending the day with my daughter. He had a great day playing in the garden and going for a nice walk to the park. After work I couldn’t resit going to the shops and picking up another couple of toys, sausages (which he loves), and a new bone. Noah was excited to see me, and even more excited when he saw the bag of pressies. All-in-all I think, from a dogs perspective, it was a pretty fabulous day! And, from me, I love him more each day and think of the many more birthdays that I will be sharing with my mad collie. I can’t believe it’s almost 2 years since he entered in my life (first time as a dog owner, or mummy as I like to think of myself). Noah was a bit wary of the candle in the bone (well, really what doggy wouldn’t be?) I thought it was more appropriate than a cake (Oh god I’ve turned into one of those mad loopy owners). Oh well at least I’m not as mad as one owner that I seen in the shop. Really, what person walks around with a buggy with a DOG in it?! No seriously, I’m not joking. The dog wasn’t injured, or looked ill in any way. I had to have a second look. Okay you’re ‘not meant’ to stare, but I couldn’t help it. Next time I might see it with a dummy in its mouth.
Right, I seemed to have went off the subject of Noah’s birthday! After Noah opened his pressies (with some help from us humans), he enjoyed having a play with his new toys. He got new tennis balls (let’s see how long they last), a tyre rope thing, a bone rope thing and another rope toy with 2 balls on it (he’s gonna have great fun running and catching them)! I think the tyre rope is gonna be his favourite – he kept on choosing to play with it out in the garden. Noah can choose from 2 toys presented to him. He will sit and, when I name the toys and ask which one he would like, he will look to the one he wants and put his paw on it (pretty cool I think, he mastered this at the cool age of a few months). I don’t do a lot of training but from time to time I like to play games, let him think for himself instead of me dictating what we play with, and present him with some challenges from time to time. He had a little training time going through the tunnel (mastered after a few tries a couple of days before).
After a couple of treats and dinner Noah went and lay in the hall a very happy contented dog. Think all that excitement was too much…
